5 Tips for a Healthy Smile

5 Tips for a Healthy SmileA smile is the best accessory you can wear for even on the rainiest of days; your smile can make someone's day. For a beautiful, heart-warming smile, you have to maintain healthy teeth and gums so that you look your best and feel confident whenever you flash those pearly whites. To help you protect the health and appearance of your teeth, we've compiled a list of five easy tips.

Drink Lots of Water

Water flushes out your teeth and helps remove pieces of food stuck in your mouth. We suggest you drink water with high fluoride content as that prevents tooth decay and strengthens your teeth. Tap water is the best option as it is easily available and contains healthy fluoride content. You can also purchase bottled water as long as you can ensure it contains significant fluoride levels.

Eat Calcium-Rich Food

Your oral health is interconnected with your overall health. If you develop calcium and vitamin d deficiencies, you will start to notice signs of discoloration on your teeth. Make sure you include calcium-rich products in your daily diet such as yogurt, milk or fortified foods in case you are lactose intolerant.

Floss, Floss, and Floss

Flossing is absolutely essential for your teeth. You could be brushing twice daily, using a mouth wash and following all other dental care routines, but if you aren't getting in between your teeth and removing food from the corners, your teeth are at risk of tooth decay.

Whitening Products

We do not recommend using an extensive teeth whitening kit at home as it can be dangerous. If you really want to go for a deep cleaning session, visit your dental hygienist at least twice a year. For maintenance in between visits, you can use whitening strips to keep them looking bright, healthy and beautifully white. Make sure you double-check with your dentist before using a product to ensure you aren't damaging your teeth.

Quit Smoking and Limit Wine, and Coffee Intake

Smoking, excessive wine and coffee intake all stain your teeth, destroy their appearance and damage tooth enamel. If you want to keep your teeth healthy for a long time, limit your wine and coffee intake and quit smoking as it also ruins your overall health.
This is the probably the best dentist that I have ever been to! The workers are so kind and understanding. They explain things to me in a way that I would understand. If you need a new dentist, this is the place to go!!!
